2020-2021 BCWB
The Brown County Weekend Backpacks have been working to deliver bags of food to the students on the weeks they have been in school. Before they returned to school we were delivering only to the HeadStart classes when they were in school. We had to start with only a small group of volunteers masked with windows open for ventilation. In this picture are two retired teachers, a substitute teacher and a spouse of retired teacher and two other volunteers. The person taking the picture was also a retired teacher. This picture was taken in April, 2020.

As the schools began to open up and become more regular in their schedules we also continued to increase the number of bags of food being delivered to students. We are now usually around 120 bags each week going out to the students. We also deliver food to some students that have remained in remote learning. We know we are not reaching all students in need of food but we hope we are reaching most of those students. We are very grateful to all the volunteers that have come during this time to help show their kindness and caring for our students.
